📋 Ingredient List
| Ingredient | Amount |
|---|---|
| ribbonfish | one piece |
🧂 Seasonings
- ginger
- garlic
- cornstarch
- five-spice powder
👨🍳 Cooking Steps
Step 1: Clean the head and belly of the ribbonfish, cut off the thorns on the back with scissors, wash, dry and cut into sections for later use.
Step 2: It is best to use a kitchen towel to absorb the water on the surface of the ribbonfish, and then use a stopper to stuff a little cornstarch on it. A thin layer is enough, not too much is needed.
Step 3: Heat oil in a pan, add ribbonfish pieces and fry until brown on both sides
Step 4: Add ginger shredded garlic slices and stir-fry until fragrant
Step 5: Pour in the light soy sauce and turn it over to coat evenly
Step 6: Pour in cooking wine to remove the fishy smell. You can pour more, as deep-sea fish smells strong. Add a little salt, because light soy sauce is salty, add some sugar to enhance the flavor, then five-spice powder, and finally add some water to cook the ribbonfish
Step 7: Finally, reduce the juice over high heat and add a few scallions flowers to garnish it.
Step 8: My taste is a little salty and sweet, which is suitable for children. In fact, I usually like to eat a little spicy, or it is delicious with some radish shreds!
💡 Pro Tips
After washing the ribbonfish and cutting it into sections, control the water content. It is best to use kitchen towels to absorb the water, otherwise it will easily become oily when frying! Wrap a little cornstarch to prevent it from sticking to the pan, but not too much, otherwise there will be impurities in the oil.
